This is apropos a
Business Recorder editorial "Too many holidays" carried by the newspaper on Saturday. I must commend the newspaper for highlighting our highly flawed approach to work. In the popular imagination, holidays conjure up a picture of tension-free atmosphere or environment. But too many holidays cannot be justified under any circumstances. I fully endorse newspaper's argument that "One would hope that the Prime Minister, as he has repeatedly pledged, takes cognizance of the appalling performance of several of his key cabinet members and takes appropriate measures to ensure that their portfolio be their primary focus and expressing solidarity with the Kashmiris not overwhelm them to a degree that they are unable to discharge the responsibility that the Prime Minister and the people of the country have bestowed on them."
Railways minister Sheikh Rashid, in particular, needs to come up with a plausible answer in this regard.
